In New York, Rose (Irene Miracle) finds an old book about three sisters who rule in an evil way. Rose thinks she’s living in one of the buildings inhabited by the sisters. Rose searches her dwelling and finds there was a ballroom beneath it; the ballroom floods and she sees a dead body. Rose’s brother, Mark (Leigh McCloskey), in Rome, reads Rose’s letter about the book; the letter falls into Sara’s (Eleonora Giorgi) hands. Rose, Sara, and another woman meet their fate. Mark goes to New York because Rose has disappeared; Countess Elise (Daria Nicolodi) is fated as well. Kazanian (Sacha Pitoeff) sold Rose the book but won’t give Mark information, but Kazanian does not last long. Elise’s butler (Leopoldo Mastelloni) is gone as well. Mark finds Professor Arnold, who is really Varelli (Feodor Chaliapin) and tries to kill Mark but fails. Varelli’s caregiver turns out to be one of the sisters but she meets a fiery fate.
