Marcus Daly (David Hemmings) is an English musician working in Rome. While chatting with his drunkard friend Carlo (Gabriele Lavia), he witnesses the murder of a famous psychic. He tries to stop it, but arrives at the scene too late to save her. He does however manage to glimpse the murderer, but is unable to recall any exact details, much to the annoyance of police. Troubled by the persistent notion that he saw more than he can remember, Daly teams up with a reporter, Gianna (Daria Nicolodi), and her associate, Dr. Giordani (Glauco Mauri). As the bodies start to pile up around him, Daly must discover the identity of the killer and how it links to his own fragile memories before it is too late.
